Luna Burlo

Luna Burlo is a visual artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Born on a sunny Mediterranean island, her work reflects the light, colour, and layered beauty of both her birthplace and her Australian home. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas with elements of mixed media, she creates in a style best described as abstract realism.

Her art is driven by her other passions: gardening, reading, bush walking, knitting, and experimenting with colour palettes. One of her earliest memories is of winning a book of Impressionist art and spending hours flipping through pages of Monet, Van Gogh, and Renoir. The joy gained from her influences feature often in her art, leading to bright, quirky and fantastical creations.

The subjects of her art often includes women, children, native Australian birds and flowers, long swishing dresses, floating blooms, and glowing orbs of light—recurring symbols of inner strength, beauty, and nature. Bold colours and dreamlike compositions invite viewers into a quiet space for reflection and joy. She aims to deliver visual moments of peace in a fast-moving world.

Luna holds a Bachelor of Arts and approaches her work with a simple guiding principle: to create pieces she would be proud to hang in her own home.

Locally Made

Fine art prints, materials, and framing are sourced with local Australian businesses and minimising environmental impact in mind. This applies to using local framers, local materials for original paintings, as well as mindful discarding of waste during painting.

Originals are hand-packaged and sent directly from my studio (or framers) here in Melbourne’s South East.

My art comes with the convenience of a range of framing options and sizes. I used only the best professional fine art quality framers for ready-to-hang pieces. Framed originals or prints can come with stunning materials such as natural sustainable Flooded Gum.

All original art comes with wires attached to the back, you just need to have your wall hooks installed, and your art is ready to beautify your wall.
